Finding the Light!

If you have ever read a photography book then you have heard/read about “Finding the Light”.  And if you have been a client of mine you might see me put my hand in a fist and turn around until I tell you where to stand, that is my way of finding the light.  I can’t take credit for it another photographer shared it on a forum I am part of and it stuck.  Basically you turn around until under your fingers you see light instead of dark:-).  Here is a good example of finding the light both images are SOOC (Straight out of the camera) and using the exact same settings.

1/400  f1.8 ISO 200

There is a little bit of light in his eyes but see how dark his face is and that his eyes look sort of sunk in?

Here is the exact same location I just turned him around doing the little fist trick and this is what I got:

See his face is bright and eyes are really showing now…FOUND THE LIGHT:-)

Hopefully this helps you, share it, come back and look at it, bookmark it…just enjoy!
