I always have a grand plan every weekend to get a good picture of my kids. And every weekend it doesn’t happen, and this weekend was no exception. Both kids had runny noses and my son had a nice band-aid on his head (poor guy). So here is Miss Priss NOT wanting her picture taking and Mr. C when you leave him alone with stickers .

Last week Miss. Priss turned 2 (still can’t get over that) and of course we talked up her birthday to her brother. Now if you know my children you know they can be SUPER stubborn, I mean so stubborn you just shake your head and walk away at times. Well we were in the car and talking about Miss Priss turning 2 and my son said “Mama I am going to buy Miss Priss a birthday present”. I will admit I sort of just brushed it off…I mean he is 3?! The rest of the day that is ALL he talked about so on Sunday my husband took him to the dollar store…yes the dollar store …to buy her a present. He might have had a little help from his dad but he came home with an: etch-a-sketch, slinky and a helium balloon. He was so proud of himself and so excited to walk in and give it to her. I caught this super fast not quite sure how but see they DO like each other .

On a side note if you need a helium balloon to last FOREVER go to the Dollar Tree, this balloon is still at the top of our ceiling with no sign of running out of air. Yup almost a week later it is still there, my son said Spiderman had to get which apparently is the case.

Michael Phelps had just won his last medal of the 2008 Summer Olympics and broke the record! I sat on the couch timing my contractions with this nice little online tool and my husband started to watch the womens’ sand volleyball tournament. I am not huge on causing a panic so I went to bed…10 minutes later I am up. Thinking my water broke, we call the doctor and they tell us to come in. Now you know how on TV people rush around and aren’t quite sure what to do? Yup this was us…considering it was 1AM. The bag was packed…car seat was not installed..but we had to go. Made it to the hospital, called my parents (they were 3 hours away) and we settled in. Mind you with my son I was in labor for 26 very long hours, so we figured we had plenty of time. My family arrived at 7AM and I was asleep, they went to get food when the nurse came in to check me. Of course I felt pressure…or so I think I did since from my waist down, couldn’t feel a darn thing. Needless to say the nurse said to NOT push..um ok sure no problem…I think. She had to go get my husband who ran in just as they were prepping me. My mom came in, in-laws and dad stayed in the hall. So from timing to contractions to prepping for delivery was about 7 hours. And in 2 pushes Miss Priss was here, my little one that was 2 weeks early with a head full of dark brown STRAIGHT hair. I was now the mom of 2 little ones.

Here is how I describe Miss Priss:

The girl that was born early but made it super easy; the girl that was born with straight hair but now has a curly mess; the girl that will stand up to her brother but ask for his help; the girl that will eat Cesar salad but won’t eat chicken nuggets; the girl that can drag her brothers name out into 10 syllables (it is normally 1); the girl wants me to take her to bed and sing “Sunshine”; the girl that loves shoes; the girl that sleeps with the following : Jessie from Toy Story, a stuffed puppy, 2 babies, a bunny and her blanket; the girl that loves to color; the girl that talks a mile a minute that sometimes we understand and sometimes we don’t; the girl that is just like me; the girl that loves to dance; the girl that has a smile that will melt you; the girl that is super stubborn but smart enough to stop what she is doing when I count to 2; the girl that copies her brother; the girl that flips when she sees puppies; the girl that has no fear; the girl that makes me laugh; the girl that loves everyone…the girl that I love .

Happy Birthday Miss Priss, we love you more than you know!

Early on Saturdays is the best time for a session, a few clouds and breeze…sign me up! Mr. B was not a fan of my “big black box” as soon as I got close he would move but thanks to dad and his phone (and YouTube!) we had him dancing in no time! I love doing session in Market Street, the stuff is always there but somehow I find new places for my sessions. Another thing I love…when kids bring their toys for the session…notice “Olivia” ? Enjoy! And Happy Early Birthday Mr. B, can’t wait to meet your new brother soon. Want to see how much Mr. B has grown, here he is a year ago.

Ahhh little newborns, love them! Remember Mrs. N? This is her precious little one, that I was so excited to meet! Ms. A had plans of her own at the beginning of the session but after getting super warm she was out for the count. I tried to work my magic to get her to sleep but of course her mama worked her magic and the session went smoothly. Enjoy!

Her dad requested this hat, I LOVED it!!

Ms. A, I seriously love this little girl. Last year when she has just turned 2 I met her as well as her mom and dad, so now she is turning 3! Just another reason I love repeat clients because you better believe I went back to their past session to see how much she has grown. We met in Old Town Tomball and from the moment she got out of the car she was the sweetest thing ever…even held my hand . So Happy Early Birthday Ms. A!! Ya’ll were so much fun and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

{My Vacation} Ambergris Caye, Belize

Finally after 4 years my husband and I were able to take a vacation, every possible star aligned so that it was able to happen. Because we didn’t plan this trip a few months out, oh no we planned it in 2 weeks. Before we settled on Ambergris Caye I started researching it and came across Holly B’s blog and she did EXACTLY what I wanted to do. Rent a golf cart, drive around Ambergris Caye and take pictures. The guy that you see below chopping the coconuts, yup she ran into him too! He was an amazing person to talk to he didn’t have much but he had just what he wanted. Another reason this trip is by far my favorite? The people. The people were amazing, friendly and genuine. From buying souvenirs to asking for directions every time we were met with a smile and help. So if you want to take a vacation go there, you will love it!

This little one was selling necklaces with his mom and grandmother, you should have seen his face when I showed him his picture on my camera!

He had just what he wanted and was amazing to talk to. Born in Belize, moved all over, lived in Chicago and is now back in Belize. His stuff was amazing!

This little girl just warmed my heart, how cute is she! The thing about her mom you could see that just loved her. My husband wanted to bring her home with us

Yes this is a restaurant and yes I ate there…enough said

Owned by a couple from Florida. When you walk up there are tubes in the water and bucket to hand down your drinks….we stayed here for a while
