{Kelvin Method} The Woodlands Photographer

Something I have started using instead of AWB (auto white balance) is the Kelvin Method.  I won’t do a massive tutorial on it, to get to kelvin you choose white balance – K then adjust the temperature in camera.  It helps you have control of your White Balance without the camera deciding for you.  You can use a gray card or AWB it is totally up to you but I thought I would show a before and after of the Kelvin Method:

AWB                                                                                                       Kelvin 6300

Both images are SOOC (straight out of the camera)!

  • Thanks for sharing this! I know that I need to learn more about white balance and stop using AWB but it seems so complicated. You’ve definitely given me reason to start reading up on it!
